New Atletico Madrid signing Luis Suarez has revealed how he was hurt by his exit in the summer. He was deemed to be surplus to requirements by new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman when the Dutch tactician was named as the replacement for the sacked QuiqueSetien and that ultimately led to the exit of the Uruguayan international. Luis Suarez went on to join La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid in a €6m deal.


Suarez has been talking about his Barcelona exit ahead of the league meeting between the two teams. Luis Suarez and his Atletico Madrid team will play hosts to Barcelona at the new Wanda Metropolitano Stadium this weekend. The ex-Liverpool and Ajax Amsterdam attackerwill face Barcelona for the first time since his disappointing summer exit during the game scheduled to take place on Saturday.

In his latest interview via popular Spanish newspaper Marca,Luis Suarez disclosed that his exit from Barcelona left him sad and hurt but he has been able to get over the hurt on the back of his switch to Atletico Madrid. The Uruguayan further said that he’s in a happy place at Atletico Madrid.

On the struggle for goals at Barcelona this season following his exit, Luis Suarez believes that the goals will flow once again at his former team. Luis Suarez has made a bright start to his Atletico Madrid with five goals and one assist in six Spanish La Liga appearances. He’s yet to score for his new team in three Champions League outings.

Luis Suarez is presently with the Uruguayan national team ahead of their tough home clash with Brazil on Matchday 4 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in the South American section. In his previous three appearances in the qualifiers, Luis Suarez has scored four goals. He would be hoping to increase his tally against the Brazilians on Tuesday night.
