Luis Suarez was a surprise visitor to the Liverpool training ground a couple of years after he left the club for Barcelona.
Suarez is still held in high regard by the club’s supporters and most of the players, who were there when he demolished opposition. He joined Barcelona for around £ 75 million and has become one of the best players at the Catalan outfit. Suarez came to prominence while at Ajax but his real step up in the game came after joining Liverpool. Back in Merseyside, the striker claimed that he is just extremely happy to return to his former stamping ground and also to interact with his former teammates.
Suarez witnessed a training session along with his family. Suarez may have spent only 3 ½ years at Merseyside, but he almost fell to the club win the league title single-handedly. In his final season at Anfield, the striker scored a remarkable 31 league goals in just 33 league appearances. This helped him win the PFA player of the year award. Even though Suarez went for a big-money transfer, he is still loved at Merseyside unlike Fernando Torres, who split opinion after his £ 50 million move to Chelsea.
Suarez is looking forward to win his second Champions League title this season, though only after taking a break with his family through a yacht charter UK.
“It was fantastic to see the lads. The people that work here are really nice and I miss them, so I wanted to come and see some friends. I have really good friends here.I had a really good moment here in three and a half years and when you have a really good moment in your life, it is something you remember.I always try to watch the [Liverpool] games and look out for the results.I am very interested in how Liverpool are doing because they are so important in my life,” said Suarez.
