In terms of scoring goals and providing assists to his teammates, Luis Suarez has had yet another impressive season as a player of Barcelona as the Uruguayan attacker scored 29 goals and made 13 assists which is not as high as his previous season of 2015-16 where he scored 40 goals and created 16 goal-scoring chances to his partners but it´s still a remarkable season as far as contributions goes for Luis Suarez.
However, despite everything that Luis Suarez did in this season to help Barcelona win major pieces of silverware it just wasn’t enough as the Spanish club was knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the quarter-finals after losing to Juventus.
To make matters even worse, Real Madrid are in the finals of the UEFA Champions League and have a realistic chance of emerging as victorious as well as also already having lifted the La Liga title and being crowned as the latest champions of Spain.
Luis Suarez on the other hand, is not going through the best of times as he picked up an injury on May 25 during a Barcelona training session which will keep him on the sidelines and unable to perform in Uruguay´s upcoming friendly matches against Republic of Ireland and Italy which are scheduled to take place on June 4 and June 7 respectively.
“The player is expected to be out of action for around 15 days. The Uruguayan striker was already set to miss the Copa del Rey final on Saturday due to suspension after being sent off in the second leg of the semi-final against Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou.” This was the statement released by Barcelona as the Spanish club confirmed the injury of Luis Suarez which is expected to leave him out of action for2 weeks.
