Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has said that he will not be joining Real Madrid or Barcelona in the summer after reports linking him with a move to Spain came to light recently. Luis Suarez has suffered a very difficult season on and off the field at Liverpool.
He has been subject to accusations that he racially abused Manchester United defender Patrice Evra – accusations that have been proven true by the investigation held by the English FA. On the pitch, Liverpool failed to get into the Champions League qualification places, which led to the sacking of manager Kenny Dalglish. Even though they won a trophy in the form of the Carling cup, the new Liverpool owners see the qualification to the Champions League as the ultimate glory.
Despite the departure of Kenny Dalglish after just one and half years in charge of the club, Luis Suarez is reportedly thought to be considering his future at Anfield. Kenny Dalglish was one of the major reasons for the arrival of the Uruguay star to Anfield. Dalglish has made the Uruguay star the focus of the team in such a way that the entire team is now built around him rather than around Steven Gerrard. Yet, there have been rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona over the next few months.
‘Being honest, I have never talked to anyone from Barca or Real Madrid. If the rumours are to be believed I would have already played for 20 teams. Liverpool have had a good season and we got to two cup finals. In the Premier League we did not finish as high as expected, but positive things have been taken. Liverpool is a 10/10 club for the support they give the players,” said Luis Suarez in response to the transfer rumours.
